Andrew Samalin is a financial professional with over 24 years of experience in assisting attorneys, CPAs and their clients with their personal financial analytics and wealth management needs on a fee-only basis. Samalin has focused his practice on divorce financial planning and other challenging financial transitions through his SEC Registered Investment Advisory firm Samalin Investment Counsel, LLC and affiliate Samalin Divorce Finance, LLC. Prior to founding Samalin Investment Counsel, he held Senior Vice President – Investment positions at Morgan Stanley, Prudential Securities, and Wachovia Securities.
Andrew is a graduate of New York University for both his undergraduate and Master’s degrees. He is a Certified Financial Planner (CFP) by trade and by focus, and is an Enrolled Agent (EA), a federally licensed tax practitioner with the IRS, to assist the professionals and clients with pre- and post- divorce financial planning engagements and tax analysis.
Andrew is regularly quoted in various news outlets, including CNBC, New York Times, Newsday, WVOX Radio, Investment News, Underwriters Labs, Dow Jones Newswires, Chase.com, Research Magazine, Financial Planning Magazine, Entrepreneur.com, RNN-TV’s Market Watch, and News12 Westchester. He has been asked to give presentations for the Association of Divorce Financial Planners, NYACP, Investment News Retirement Income summit, and Fidelity Investments Institutional Wealth Services.
Samalin is the President of the Association of Divorce Financial Planners, is on the Board of Directors of the NYACP, and was selected by the Westchester County Business Council to the Rising Stars: Westchester’s Forty under Forty. Andrew is the Chapter Leader and Founder of Second Saturday Westchester, a not for profit that assists attendees become educated about divorce. He was appointed Treasurer for Bethel Nursing Homes, named to its Executive Committee, and Chairs its Investment Committee. Andrew is member of the Financial Planning Association. In April 2007, he had the honor of hosting a reception on the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. Finally, Westchester Magazine voted Samalin Investment Counsel, LLC “Best in Customer Service” every year its’ been offered.
Andrew Samalin lives in Bedford, NY with his family and their dog, Lucky.
